Default XC90 V8 oil

HI, Just wondering if anyone can help. I have the V8 petrol 2008 xc90 and i am getting the "low oil level" message coming up on the dash, i have put oil in to just under the fulll mark, I don't really want to put to much in. the message is still coming back. Ian

Default Oil level low

Have the codes read (OBD2). VIDA or a good OBD2 device. It should help you better understand the problem.
Could be a sensor issue.

Update. After a couple of days the message disappeared and hasn’t returned.
The oil level wasn’t that low before I topped it up, because of years of servicing my last diesel XC90 I didn’t how far up the dipstick the oil level should be on the petrol one. But I guess to the full line is ok.

I've had that before with my S80 ... Little bit of congealed oil or grub had managed to lodge on the sensor. Clears sooner or later ..or you can pull sensor and clean.
