Strange judder
Hi All,
I'm new to this forum (and volvo ownership). I've read loads of threads to do with judder in XC90 but none sound like what I have. I have a 2010 2.4 XC90 - 90k miles In general, it drives really well. I'm actually pretty happy with it. There is however a small(?) issue. At anything above 25mph, I can feel a judder every 30-45 seconds that lasts maybe a second at maximum. It's obviously more noticeable on the motorway at higher speeds. It seems to be coming from the front (maybe engine?). When I got the car, it had a warning light for the EGR valve but after a few treatments to clean it, I no longer get the warning light but the judder is still there. Any thoughts? |

I'd be checking a couple of basics like all of the engine mounts, fuel filter and transmission fluid change history and try to get some diagnostic live data to see if you can spot any anomalies in boost pressure, rail pressure etc.
Suspension components and bushes may be another possibility. Sorry I can't be more specific but a judder can be caused by many things.

Does the judder change or get worse when you apply throttle or lift off (overrun) if so - check propshaft joints (x3) and transfer box output flange for play.
