I would prefer to us Esso as I drive past it on my way off the estate. However their premium unleaded is 25p a litre more than the 95 RON option. So I drive to Tesco for their premium unleaded.

Shell 90%, 10% Sainsbury’s. Just depends on location. Shell is my nearest by 10 miles

Shell V-Power is 27p a litre more expensive than Sainsburys in my neck of the woods.....

I do use V-Power (diesel), so that's over a tenner extra per tank fill.....

Is it worth it I wonder....???

It would be worth doing a full tank test of similar driving to see if what milage you got out of both.

Car details would be interesting.
For comparison I came back from Cropredy today (M40 Banbury to Uxbridge the rest A roads) 72 miles in 80 minutes with no traffic delays returning an indicated 43.9 mpg on cooking Tesco diesel. 2019 V90 D5 AWD PowerPulse. Reasonably well loaded and roof open but no a/c on.

I use Shell primarily because it's local and I tend to fill up near home most of the time, and driving further to a cheaper one like Tesco would cost more than I save unless filling from near empty.

I also like their app and the fact I can pay without the hassle of going inside, so based on that tend to go there when away from home as well, but then only if I don't pass somewhere cheaper first.

Best thing ever that you can pay from mobile phone. It is fantastic feature. Good point

I usually use Esso due to Nectar points, their premium unleaded seems good, and its generally quite convenient too. Harvest energy are about the only other one I use as its the closest to work if I have an empty tank.

The cheapest!

I then add fuel additive to make it premium, essentially, that's what premium diesel is......just save the dosh.

I normally top up at supermarkets.

Tend to avoid Shell as over priced.

Driving mostly with speed limiter and some short and long journeys...most 16 mile trips and the odd occasion where I just throttle it....I'm getting 49.4mpg D4 S90.... Brilliant if you ask me.
