Why does my DICE hate me so much!!!
ok, so I've had and used my DICE for possibly 10 years. however EVERY time I come to use the damn thing it takes me more time to connect/trouble-shoot the DICE than it does to fix the car. Ive used it to communicate with at least 10 different family/friend Volvos over the years but sometimes it just refuses point blank to connect the USB Comm line.
I currently use VIDA thru a Virtual box image on a Mac, (I have also used PC's and laptops with WIN xp/7/10 previously and they have all been the same) I connect via long USB lead to the desktop indoors, and I can also separately power the DICE thru a 12V adapter that works well to 'test the comm tool' if the DICE decides to play that day, it is a SETEK DICE, not an original Volvo tool. i've tried car power, 12V adapter power, different USB leads, different comm ports on the desktop. and there is just no rhyme or reason to why it decides to communicate or not. Today it just won't...... last month it did. So I can't even test the damn thing. the Firmware LED flashes green as it it should according to the instructions the vehicle interface LED flashes red when its supposed to, the Blue tooth light flashes until it realises there is no Bluetooth adapter installed. BUT mostly I get only 2 seconds initial USB comm status and then it blanks (or sometimes it lights).........WHY!!!!???? does anyone else have issues with theirs? Mike.
