!996/7 960 Windscreen Washer resevoir
The washer resevoir is very difficult (almost impossible) to fill. I suspect there is some sort of filter in line.
Difficult to see how to remove the assemmbly for cleaning etc. Any advice please. Regards all |

RE: !996/7 960 Windscreen Washer resevoir
I cleaned mine out last weekend after having the same problem - I could put about half a small cup full of fluid in the reservoir before it was apparently 'full'.
I think the basic construction will be the same even though my car is an 850. The filler swan neck pulls up and out easily enough. Feel into the opening, and you'll come across a net bag which filters the fluid before it goes into the reservoir - this also pulls up and out. Mine was covered in green slime - lovely. After running it under hot water, the reservoir fills up just fine. Hope this helps,

Just to confirm that I had the exact same problem with my '95 940. Following the above instructions it's fixed! Took about 10 mins. Easiest job ever!

Did mine last weekend as well. Before I saw this post, takes longer to clean the filter than the rest of it.
1st time I've tried to fill the bottle up. Owned Under a month. Guess it wouild of taken Hrs to get it filled up. Or under 5 mins to clean the filter? Dont know how much time had been wasted in the past trying to fill it up, but I dont think it got like that overnight. |

I reckon it's a buildup of residue from windscreen washer fluid.

Why can't they go back to the 240 arrangement with a BIIIIGGG reservoir and a decent-sized filler neck?
