V70 Air Con Noise

Hi all.
Have Just signed up so first contact.
Have got a 1999 V70 Diesel with climate control system. Air Con started making what I can only describe as a 'singing'noise' especially when I turn the car off when have got the air con on.(sounds like a kettle singing).Normally stops after about 30 secs to a minute. Can sometimes notice it while travelling at low speeds. Does not happen if Air Con switched off.
Anybody got any idea's ?

sounds like the expansion valve not opening fully.
