Hiya,
I'm selling my 1990 240 glt estate. I've advertised it on www. classiccarsforsale.co.uk id # 215994. I'm not sure if selling is the right thing to do, but now that it's done I've got the urge for another project. I've tried not to make the same mistake as when I sold my 850 tdi, which was far too cheap and sold immediately. What do you think of the price on my 240???? It's £2, 750 o no I'm going to try to load some photos now, but if like last time it doesn't work there are some on the ad. Cheers Phil

Why not put a direct link to the advert, or the price you want on here?
After searching I eventually found it, my personal opinion is its at the higher end of the 240 price range, however that said i'm a pauper! It does look very clean and tidy though, so I do think you will get the price you are after, it just might not be a super quick sale. On another classic car site there are currently two 245's in the same (nice) colour as yours, although not as tidy, one is an auto at £850 the other manual with cream leather at £1800. GLWTS.

It does look extremely clean so Id say towards the higher range of 240 pricing. The only thing that may go against it is that it doesn't have the leather interior which most people who buy GLT's are drawn to.

The velooooor seats are cosy in the winter and cool in summer. I just hope it's not undervalued... but I suppose the next couple of months will tell. Thanks

like its been said if you want a quick sale the price would have to be a lot lower , but hey if your willing to wait you may be lucky , now if it had the leather inside it would be worth me making a offer but i really want a well specked one
but hey best of luck |

The price your asking is on the high side, and although you said the cambelt has been changed recently, it is now 3 years ago - The recommended interval is 48,000 miles or 4 years - So a cambelt change is imminent!
The cloth interior makes it less desirable too... Having said that, it does look to be in very good condition - So what is the bodywork/paintwork like? Is the lacquer okay? Is there any obvious corrosion/rust? I'm certainly in the market for a 240GLT estate, but yours is at the very top end of what I would pay, so more information is required. Regards Eddy |

Hi eddy,
As to your points.....the asking price is what it is until I see what response I get. I was under the impression that cam belts should be changed every 80k. The bodywork is in excellent order, no rust, flaking lacquer, or dull bits. A few small stonechips on the leading edge of the bonnet. It has also been waxoiled No advisories with mot. Any more info you need just post.
