Default Does your D5 run hot?

Might sound daft, my D5 always seems really hot after a run, I can't barely touch the panel above the radiator.
I fully cleaned and flushed the cooling system and put Volvo antifreeze in 50/50 so all well there.
I did notice the back of the rad is a bit clogged under the fan so I'll be looking there soon.
So it seems really hot and reliably reads half way on the temperature scale, does this sound normal?

Put diagnostics on it because gauging heat from what comes out the engine bay won't tell you anything unfortunately.

It has a 90°C Thermostat so shouldn't ever run above that temp.
Once up to temperature, mine hovers at 87-89°C permanently (save excessive idling) and yours should too.

OK, I have two things to try and find in Vida, the engine temperature and where the oil counter reset is for the gearbox!
Cheers Ches

Diagnostics >Vehicle Communication

Then ECM parameters for coolant temp and TCM advanced for counter reset.

My xc feels hot too but it never got hotter than half way....until that hot spell we had and I was towing a large caravan. On hills it would creep up to three quarters then back down when over the hill.No faults shown so I put it down to conditions and the car working hard.

My v70 t5 seemed excessively hot during the hot weather the other week.
Did a trip to lake vyrnwy, only about 30 miles from me. The external temperature was reading 28c.
The temperature gauge never altered and I wouldn't have noticed if the oil level low hadn't come on.
Stopped off for some oil, popped the hood and the whole engine bay seemed untouchable.
It's been fine since then touch wood

Not sure this should be in the sales section though luggsey

My T5 I had was the same, the gauge was always bang in the middle but open the engine bay and it was hot. It also took ages for it to cool down, you could go out several hours after you had stop the engine bay would still be quite warm. However the car never overheated so I just put it down to it being normal.

Exactly, mine takes ages to cool down after a run, the entire engine bay seems to hold the heat.
It amazes me that all the electricals can withstand it for so long.

I just read that your engine can run hotter if it's jud completed a regeneration, I suspect thats what happened when I noticed how hot mine was.
