So my 2014 D5 is doing exactly this. Struggles to accelerate, as the OP said, "you just get slowly faster"
Started off with it happening very rarely, but now it's almost daily it seems As with most people, no warning lights or anything, car runs smooth, just doesn't want to go Should I just replace the DPF sensor, or will VIDA or another code reader give me a better idea? I believe my go-to garage uses a Snap-On reader of some sort TIA

Plugging Vida in would be a good idea, or just get it to a dealer and get them to read any codes if there are any up. Some things I would probably look for if it might help. - I would have a look at the MAF sensor? I dont have a D5, I have a T6 but I have had a few previous diesels and those symptoms sound similar to a failing MAF sensor. - I would also have a look at a the throttle body and take that out and give it a clean if it is all bunged up. That should at least give you better response if it is very dirty.

I would have expected a throttle body issue to cause it to run rough though, where as it's simply unresponsive?
As others have said, it's like it's in some sort of limp home mode when it's doing it, it's a smooth as, it just doesn't go

yep so my first point then the MAF sensor might be worth checking, or getting some sensor cleaner on it. Sticky throttle body wont always result in a lumpy or rough idle, it can result in delay or gradual acceleration as well (Depends on the state of it) Again if we are looking at sensors im not sure on the config of the D5 but might be worth checking the TCV as well.
