Question V70 Bypassed sensor ?

Hi and good day everyone, my first post here.

I have a 2008 V70 p3 SE and today removed my offside headlight unit for bulb replacement and decided to clean the then vacant chamber.

Spotted a loose 2 core wire, one blue one black, which heads into the radiator front grill area.
They have been cut clean from a two wire plug and socket and the remaining short tails shorted together, which makes me think a sensor has been bypassed.

The other side of that plug / socket are two wires, one blue/ brown band, the other red/black band.

If anyone has any idea of what these wires should be connected to, or can point me towards a wiring diagram, it would be much appreciated.

Hoping someone can advise..

At a guess I'd suspect it's the bonnet open sensor been bypassed. If you pop the bonnet and then just close the latch on the opposite side of the cut wire, start the engine and see if you have the bonnet open message youl know

Hi and many thanks. No signs of it being a service vehicle though. Plus private owners on Logbook since new.

Hi and many thanks for your reply. It IS indeed the bonnet open sensor as you said.
Guess I have to remove some panels etc to find the item and renew, but at least I now know it was nothing serious.

Regards... Mac.
