Default C70 - T5 - Doors opening whilst driving

Hi all,

Only had the car for a week and have noticed that whilst driving the doors unlock / open. I first notice the interior light goes on and either the pasenger or drivers door is open / message on dash.

Just happened today both passenger and drivers door suddenly opened.

I first thought it was the auto lock, so I switched that all off but no it still happens.

Anyone had this ? Is there a sensor some where that opens the door in emergency ?

So searching around this seems to be another common fault with these C70s.

The door locks become dry with grease and the suggestion is to wash them first with brake fluid cleaner, then grease them up. Failling that it's a new door latch.

First week of ownership and I have :
SRS / airbag in door high resistance
Failed head light / ballast
unlocking doors
Rotten rear exhaust

However, I still love the car :-)

It is, but it's generally a low-tech fix as you indicate

this door lock maintenance need doing on a regular basis wash out old grease with wd40 or similar. work the lock open and close door several times then re grease with white lithium grease . also when temp is well below zero the door will open but not close ie lock frozen . not ideal when trying to go to work i allways keep a can of wd in the house for these events in winter.

I have a 2003 V70R which has developed a similar fault, door closes but doesn't switch off interior light or allow me to lock the door with out a few blips of the remote or turns of the key...anyone know a safe source for parts???

Autodoc came back to me and confirmed that these parts will fit my C70 Mk2 2006.

Article - 1361D0160 and 1361D0144

Both are compatibile with my car. Hoping that this might help others who have this problem. £40 per a lock, all new etc.

I found my tape appproach worked a treat. Both doors havent had any locking issues. It seems that the plastic in the lock latch wears out so putting tape on the body side of the lock, wrap it around both the sides as this part is in the shape of an L sorts the issue out.

Hi all.

Haven't seen any door issues since my tape trick. So seems to work. Wind electrical tape around the lock hoop on the body

Out of interest I've decided to keep my car lol. I had someone willing to put 2.5k in my hand but ....dman it..... I've fallen for it. I love driving it. Lol

So I've just ordered a service kit for it and will service it, get new tyres and keep it.
