volvo 240 wagon
hello all,
Thought id post up a few pics of my 240 wagon, shes a 1988 240 DL 2.3L redblock on carb, shes a 4 speed with 200,000 miles on the clock. I bought it off my mate who had originally brought it in from England for himself but i convinced him to sell it to me instead after i sold my Saab. So far its had a full clean inside and out and been waxed and detailed. I got some roof bars a basket and a cycle carrier for the bikes. Have re-sprayed the steel wheels and all the lower plastic trims which had grayed, added a few stickers etc.. to the tail gate, some pressed plates and i got a set of genuine 70's Hella 160's. Future plans are the 40mm lowering springs i have to be installed and i have some dogdish hub caps to be put on. There a wee bit of welding needs done on the outersills infront of both rear tires. In the future might go stupid and change engines or something but right now its my daily driver and im just enjoying being in a volvo for the first time! this was it rolled of the boat btw i know the hellas are not even, lesson learned measure twice drill once. lol cheers for looking Rob Last edited by Rouleur96; Oct 28th, 2014 at 17:23. |

Great looking bus, I'm glad your enjoying it, I love driving my 240dl it's just comfortable & wallowy I can only think the lowering springs would stiffen things up - I was considering a set myself but I love the tractor like ground clearance! I'm also a big fan of yellow lights so I think your fog lights are great! I got some yellow caps to fit over the h4 bulbs in my headlights, but to be honest I'd quite like the entire headlight unit to have a yellow lense,

Hi..Welcome..Nice to see another 88 Dl owner!..in my humble opinion a bullet proof specification.. and over the years i have owned one have grown to love it for its relentless stubborness to breakdown..If you dont do a lot of miles and not in a hurry dont change this car in any way..Love the car..love the cat!..Cheers hj.

@tramp cheers man yeah I love her as is but I just want to lower her a wee bit on 40mm should still be plenty good clearance underneath still but well see, probably would go for coils if they wernt so expensive! The yellow lense tint is like £4 for 3 A4 sheets on eBay dude. And the glass is a piece of **** to remove from the light.
@peter it's not actually fixed it's a 2spd sturmy archer hub with kick back gear change and coaster brake. It's a pashley clubman lovely wee bike hand hilt in England. @stephen cheers man not my cat man so no idea it was a my buddy's house. Cheers for the comments everyone! Just looking to give it TLC and drive it and enjoy. Things might get silly next year but well see Cheers robbie! |
