Default Servicing costs!

So my MY19 XC60 T5 is asking for it's first service (Cannot believe 12 months has passed already!).

Rang both of my 'local' Franchised Volvo dealers (Both about 20 miles away) and have been quoted £349 by one and £249 by the other.

How can there be such a differential between the 2? Surely there is a a standard pricing for servicing by a franchised dealer?

Labour rates?? Appreciate that is a big difference between local dealers, but I would however expect to pay more in London, say, than in the provinces.

Regards, John.

Wow. That makes me glad I paid the £599 for 5 years servicing up front.

The £249 price is about right , However the £349 price is more like for the second year service where the fuel filter and air filter are extra ... clarification needed !

To answer your last question first, there is no standard pricing for servicing across dealers so some variation is inevitable.

However something's awry if you've been quoted a £100 difference. It may be worth checking once more that both dealers have the model, model year and service required correct.

Have a look at the Volvo Service Price Indicator at

https://www.volvocars.com/uk/own/mai...rice-indicator

It will provide an indicative price for servicing at different dealers. It's just an indicative price though - they won't (necessarily) be held to that price.

I did the same, first time ever that I’ve taken the service deal . No brainer.

Just looked at my local dealer in Guildford and syggests £335.

However, I also have a service pack and managed to secure a mega deal 5 years for £200!

Our car goes in for it’s first service soon. It’s an ex-Volvo UK car and so sadly, it did not come with the service pack. Doves Horsham are quoting £335 which seems quite high for a service where little is replaced. We are currently shopping around and already Worthing are £305. I see that the Volvo service site quoted above has it at £275 but as a ‘price indication’.

Can anyone recommend a Volvo dealer in West Sussex/Surrey? We are very close to Horsham but would be happy to hear of alternatives.
