v2021-03-09_2

news:
- another 2 options for microphone gain.
- now the PBAP is used for contacts readout
- - much faster synchronization (between bt module and the cellphone)
- - on android devices it is possible to recognize if synchronization is turned off on the device and therefore there is a new message "Sync. off" or "Sync. denied" appears if the synchronization is turned off on the device. if the synchronization is turned off on the ios device then the phonebook is empty after the synchronization.
- - on ios device: contacts without empty spaces (if diacritics is used). diacritics chars are now managed by bt module.
- - the new settings option "M: Nick ON/OFF" or "M: nicknames ON/OFF". if turned on then contact nicknames are used (if stored for the contact)

yes and no.
- the volume is provided by the audio system so you will always be able to use the volume buttons.
- neither the AUX nor FM transmitter extension modules support next /prev buttons. due to this disadvantages there is an another option:
- - prev button alternative: dial 444
- - next button alternative: dial 666
- - play/pause button alternative: dial 555
Do you have access to the CAN bus messages?
If so, you could read the UP and DOWN buttons on the steering wheel, as they are on the CAN bus....

I suspect however that you connect the the phone modem slot and thus follow the standard phone interface command set and have no control over what keys you can use.... other than phone keypad keys....

i have also started to work on the MOST (optical) audio extension for P3 (S80, V/XC70). so in the future the 3 options (for P3) of audio extension will be available (FM transmitter, AUX, MOST).

any audio extension allows you to stream wirelessly music from the cellphone to the car. it is up to you which one you choose. every extension has pros and cons.

FM transmitter:
pros:
- RDS track info
- does not require MOST unlock
cons:
- radio stream quality (but is still better than most of non volvo cars)
- support only 3ch feature
- no direct audio remote (only via dial shortcuts)

AUX:
pros:
- Dolby Digital can be used
- better quality than FM
- does not require MOST unlock
cons:
- you have to have AUX input in the car
- no track info
- no direct audio remote (only via dial shortcuts)

MOST (in the future):
pros:
- track info
- probably the best audio quality (but the most probably same like the AUX)
- Dolby Digital can be used
- direct audio remote (steering wheel, central panel)
cons:
- P3 only (until somebody lend me a car with AUU due to another configuration)
- require MOST unlock and change car configuration (you have to visit D5T5 dealer or have own DICE and the D5T5 account)

Great summary, thanks! How near/far in the future MOST extension will be? If it comes in couple of months then I wait for it. If it takes over 6 months then I choose fm or aux ext.

v2021-06-19_1

news:
- the new firmware does not "ring" after the update. it just shows its version as an operator name
- if the auto connection is enabled then the searched device is displayed as the operator name (<-> name)

fixed:
- the long message (as an operator name) can cause the system instability
- optimalization
