Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get the prototype anti rollbar bracket made. And I'm going to hopefully if it's possible, make a rear lower brace. I don't know if people would be interested in them?

I've just got one of these painted and fitted. I had to file about 1mm off the back of one of the holes to get it on the chassis, but apart from that, fitting was very easy. The only thing to look out for is to make sure the bit M12 bolts at the front cross-member do not rub against the power steering hose there. I used nyloc nuts to present a curved edge to the hose and to make sure I didn't end up with bits of brace bouncing down the road.
My car also has the 960 engine crossmember braces and the square plate fits fine with those using the standard bolts. Subjectivity the car feels stiffer, it's noticeable even when jacking the car up. I've no idea if it actually makes the car faster round corners, but it certainly feels nicer to drive. Theoretically it should make it easier to feel the difference that other changes are making since the movement of the suspension will not be absorbed by the chassis twisting. We'll see. Have u put the bars on the bottom because of the 960 braces? As the bars are intended to sit on top of the plates.

Are you likely to ever stop building these? Only ask because I do want to get an order in whilst you're still doing them, however I won't need it for a year or so yet. I can order sooner if you think you might stop.

Not that it makes much difference, my exhaust is currently hanging so low I'm leaving showers of sparks over every speedbump anyway. |

Yeh, it doesn't really matter, but u might as well have as much ground clearance as u can. It is a option to have them like that for people with different engines, that might have a lower sump. I do also think it looks better with the bars at the top. Not that anyone will ever see it, but I know it's there.
You must have been wondering why the bars where angled on the ends? (opposite to each other) that's to clear the x member and on the other end the main bar. |
