Exclamation Part 2 end of Volvos the final part

This is the second part of my troubles and issues which is going to focus on the intimidation of me when it visits garage or get slightly involved with car clubs. Classic or enthusiastic car garages only want to work on stuff that interests them. Turn up with a Nissan GT saloon and they will just refuse or say sorry we are very busy. But turn up with a RS200 and you get welcomed with open arms
I tired this with 4 separate places for welding work and general MOT preparation for this primera GT contacted 4 classic garages who specialise in welding even some did normal MOT work. All 4 made excuses but… two weeks later I sent up a bogus email account and email them all again changing the car.RS200 oh and guess what! All three excepted the work and wanted to book me in. Just a disgrace my money is good an another and a car is a car. Just discrimination at the highest level.

It’s the old boys club again. If your face ain’t white and does not fit you will be black balled. Or just basic looks and appearance. Older men who work in these places just see a young customer as a joke. And don’t take them seriously and if you get far enough to have a conversation with one. You will get abused and talked down to and made to feel like you don’t belong.

Thanks for wasting a good 3 years of my life and about 30k but I’ll get my own back. All these rare parts you guys need which I have collected are all going in the local tip eBay is full of scammers. And two out of three cars are going in storage and will be damaged beyond repair and scraped next year.

Just about to collect the NMCFG fresh start away from classics and car hobby although I will still have my driving hobby which is quite detached from everything as you don’t need to be a mechanic for that!

New hobby is cats

Bye , Jim

Best of luck with your new hobby.

Do you have any reason to suppose vets are less likely to rip you off than garages?

Still not sure I understand the message you are trying to impart.

I'm more concerned for the cats, they might be even more fickle than the garage owners.

Good luck with trying to herd the cats !

They will most certainly be the ones deciding whether you deserve to be listened to or not . Similar to the motor trade all you will likely get from the cats is!!!

As been as you’re based in Chester you could contact SLR who’re based in Warrington who are a trusted independent Volvo dar dealer and repair shop. Look them up on Facebook. Seb knows his stuff and could potentially help or advise. I understand your frustration have dealt with rubbish garages who have no intention on delivering on their promises. Before you go throwing money away due to a bout of frustration I’d look at investigating a few more avenues.

I have always avoided any hobbies that involved vets. I want my nuts kept firmly in place, not removed and thrown in the scrap bin.

Lots of spleen venting by the sounds of it.

The big difference between cats and cars is that may own a car, but a cat owns you. Good luck!
