2006 V70rear led

hi guys
I have a 2006 v70 d5. Some clown reversed into my rear pasenger lower lense. I put it into the dealership for replacement(ouch)since then i noticed the 4 led lights arnt eorking that side. I never noticed before. They say they were mever fitted on that side unless ordered. He said there was no led strip on that side. Is this correct. I epuld check but seems a big job to remove lense ??? Cheers guys

Mine are working , have they fitted the correct unit.
The reverse lens is clear as there are two types clear & frosted.



I would say if the o/s has them the n/s should as well.

Sounds like they've fitted a replacement light unit off the earlier model V70 that hasn't got the 4 LED's in the reverse light section. The older light unit has tram line grooves in the lens and the LED units are crystal/diamond pattern & are a lot more clearer too! Both will fit either year & are basically "Plug n Play".

Thanks for the replys.
I went back to the dealership and they showed me the old cluster they removed and we could see the section where the LEDs would slide in and the cover template.they can't of been in the old unit either ??????

its 100% the same lens.has the clear lower reverse cover and the 4 holes in the side for the LEDs.

Those lower rear lenses are horribly vulnerable – we've had the offside broken twice. The first time I left it with a hole for a while and water got in and shorted out the LEDs. As Volvo want about £35 for the strip it may be the case that yours was broken before and the owner didn't bother replacing the LEDs if they were damaged.

On the second breakage I taped it up pronto and bought a secondhand cluster on eBay for only £35 (as you've found out a new one is north of £100...). And the bonus is that the eBay one came with all the light fittings so I have a spare LED and bulbs now.
