Default V70 replacement

Our trusty 940 needs to put out to pasture so a V70 beckons.
You've probably been asked this lots of times before but could someone give me a quick resume of which engines/transmissions etc to go for (or avoid).
I am looking at a 2000 to 2003 model

Thanks in anticipation

Hi,

You may get a better response if you post this message in the "S80 '98-'06 / S60, V70 & XC70 '00-'07 General" forum, as this one is for V70's from 2007 and later.

A v70 D5 will cost you a bit more than a petrol, auto's are great, but i've heard can develop problems. So, i would go for a 01'> D5 manual SE.
