  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

changing my rear brake pads and i cant get the piston pushed in any ideas how to get it pushed in thanks frank

How are you trying to do it? You need to push it inwards, while turning it clockwise. There was a similar post recently about it where I've even posted the tools you can use to to push it in. A quick search and you will find it

Having not done my rear brakes yet, it`s on the cards as my handbrake shoes are low, I didn`t know about this clockwise turning of the pistons when pushing them back into the calipers.
Do they turn anti-clockwise when the brake is applied then?

i'm away to do mine tomorrow when my caliper winders appear from fleabay, will the new pads also adjust my handbrake back to a few clicks as it's right up outta the floor at the moment, thanks

Did mine last week, and a pair of long-nosed pliers work well enough. Just don't slip and split the rubber boot

I have that same tool. I had to adjust mine a bit. put it on the plunger, fasten the c-clamp over that and turn a cm. then tighten the clamp again and turn. It works well enough.
