Just out of curiosity, what is the black box with the green coolant filler cap in the view of he engine bay? My V90 has just a small size translucent coolant reservoir in that position.

This happens to be my first post - your car has tempted me out of my habit of just browsing instead of posting. Been daydreaming about another Volvo since parting ways with my P2 V70 T5, so I'm going to send you a PM now.

EDIT: It appears my post count is too low to send private messages, feel free to send me one or reply if you're interested in having a chat about the car. I've had getting a 960 on my mind for a while and yours is a lovely example. Thanks
Hi, I'm sorry not to have replied sooner, I've been busy with other stuff. I'm not sure how to send a private message - I'll have a go and try to give you my email address.

The black box is just a cosmetic cover to hide the messy gubbins of the coolant reservoir and the ABS unit and pipework. I actually took it off my previous 960 (a 1991 model) when I got this car. The coolant reservoir will be identical to yours.

That is a beaut Stan, if I didn't have the 940 I'd definitely be interested - that is the high standard of care and maintenance that you don't see very often (its usually just me lol).

I'd be patient and wait for the right buyer/price. Someone like me will see the advert and want it really badly. If I didn't already have 3x Volvos I'd be thinking of how I could hide it from my wife...

I must admit, I've not been pushing the sale. I'm in no hurry, but I must get off my backside and DO something! I know that, in terms of the condition of the car and the way it's been looked after, I'm sitting on something fairly rare. I'm not about making money out of it but, after all the time and effort I've put in over the years, I hope it can go to a good home. So, it's still in the garage and I give it a run every couple of weeks.

Hi Stan; I've been procrastinating getting my post count up to PM you but I'm still quite interested in the car. I'd better get to that. (unless it is fine on the forum to post a temporary email within thread?)

edit: posted in that post count thread - hadn't got around to checking it out, my bad been hectic lately

Seeing as I really want to check this out - here's an email I don't use much but will keep an eye on (am fine with it being 'public' on the forum as it's not my main email); mazc4tra@gmail.com

If you give me a shout on there I can reply with my number or primary email address.

If I get bumped in post count sooner than later via the thread Paul linked I'll PM.

I've had my eye on getting a 960 for a while and was trying to find a garaged looked-after example such as yours - corrosion is of course a concern on the un-garaged examples around and I prefer not to repeat the process I had of fixing the corrosion on my previous 1991 Toyota Celica GTi-16 that did a rolling restoration on. Come the time find one I can cherish I'd be working on it myself where possible and should likely be keeping it garaged too.

Really miss my T5 but been looking forward to getting something pre-ford-era. /ramble
