Default BOOM how to destroy an engine!!

Well the mechanic before if that's what you can call him, dropped what looks like the turbo return pipe o ring in the sump which in turn got sucked up into the oil pick up and bobs ya uncle. Con rod bent and piston cut into 7 bits, only part left un destroyed was gudgeon pin.

Holy flux! that the engine you just got fitted? (the "mystery" one from the other day)

Bummer if it is... How did it end up spitting a piston, jammed the pressure relief valve open resulting in a seizure?

Heat seizure I'm guessing as the con rod was blue and the pickup was jammed, only way you can really bend con rods thru heat. This was the reason why I put in the b4194t2 because the ****ty b4204t5 engines are the worst invention ever.

Oof, not nice (you can also bend rods by spitting a big end cap & smacking the end of the rod with the crank web on the way back round... Ask me, I owned a TS Alfa! )

The idea is to live in an invisible roofless concrete block built into a cliff.
With no doors for knocking and no windows for peeping and a cavernous
tunnel to the ocean for food and mermaids or men.

Perhaps a deserted island with Wilson is simpler.

And how would you split the end cap then? Over tighten the bolts or heat!!

No, the previous owner had driven it with the famous Alfa knock until it broke (through fatigue) the bolts! Unbelievable, it must have had next to no oil pressure & the bearing must have been spinning like a top!

I bought it with the blown engine with the intention of replacing the sump/crank/rods etc but it turned out to have also smacked up the liner so I broke the car instead Awfully weak engines bottom end wise though, and the cranks won't take a grind either...

Lol not good. With one of my old engines I managed to run too much boost intentionally and had a big end sitting on top of the other bigend and were flattened to more then a piece of paper. 27psi that took in 2nd gear lol.

Haha class act I thought too much boost was an impossibility, it's just they don't make metal hard enough yet? (unless we're talking Toyota 7M properly assembled & then it's just a case of wind it up till the turbo eats it's thrust brg, fit new bigger turbo & wind up some more I miss that car, it was ridiculously tough & a nice antidote to the Alfa).

Actually, I have a spare (with new CHRA/360 thrust) CT26 57 trim sat here... Wonder what sort of revs it'd spin up at on a B4184 haha now that'd be a project
