what tyres??
I am currently running Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV 255/45 20's on my 2014 XC60, the tracking was checked when the tyre were fitted but I have only done 6500 miles and the front don't have much life left on them. I wouldn't be the first to be billed for a task that wasn't carried out.
Most of the 6500 miles are motorway miles, I am beginning to think I need to get the tracking checked again, by a more reparable company, but just thought I would ask what everyone else is running and what are you getting out your front tyres? thanks in advance |

Michelin PS4 or 5 is probably not the tyre for an SUV. They're usually spec'd on hot hatches and sports cars for their sticky cornering performance.
I run PS4 on my Focus estate, they last around 10-12,000 miles, no track days. PS Cup 2 on my Focus RS did about 8,000 miles on the front axle. I like Goodyear tyres on my Volvo. Tyre selection is very subjective.

If the wear is even across the treads and it's steering straight, then look elsewhere.

Change your wheels for a 18” or 17” options, fit a quality 4x4 tyre like Pirelli Scorpion, or whatever from Michelin, Continental, etc. or even mid range from Cooper, Hankook, etc and with moderate driving on a well maintained car you should get 40k per set.
The circa £500 cost for a refurbished set of wheels will likely be recovered in one cycle of tyres… Tracking issues would manifest as uneven tyre wear…

Firstly. I don't have an xc60, but have a v60. I have tried a number of tyres over the years, and have landed on the uniroyal rainsport, as a compromise between wear rate, noise and grip, which is phenomenal in the wet (as you'd hope). I get around 15000 miles from them, and they are about £100 per tyre, fitted.
