Default V90 not slowing

I recently bought a 2019 V90 T5 Cross Country and found one aspect quite disquieting.

When I take my foot off the throttle pedal the car sails merrily along, bot revs and speed hardly decreasing. Downhill, when I take my foot off the throttle it accelerates and I have to apply the brake.

I have had automatic V70s and they exhibited a far greater engine braking.
My last car was a Tesla - that applied regenerative braking under the same circumstances.

The dealer has driven it and 'it drives normally and most modern cars have a coasting feature to improve fuel efficiency'.

Has anyone any thoughts? Is the V90's behaviour normal?

The V90s have an 8 speed gearbox so will seem to coast in top gear when you release the accelerator unless you are braking in which case it changes down.
If you are in economy mode it actually coasts completely going downhill and if in performance or Polestar mode the revs are kept higher to be ready for more instant acceleration. If I want to hold it on the gearbox I use it in 'manual' mode. I hope this covers your concerns?

It is behaving exactly as it should so what you need to do is adjust your 'driving' to maximise the advantage that the car is presenting to you.
