960 Towbar

The Cheshire section have acquired a small trailer to carry our gazebo, flags, display equipment and BBQ to the car shows we attend.

Our section secretary has a very nice 1996 960 saloon and would like to equip it with a towbar so that he can help with the moving of the trailer. Understandably a new one is almost impossible to find (we have found one in stock but the supplier is asking too much for it) so I wondered if any members have a good used one lying about for a 960/S90 saloon?

The appeal for a 960 towbar brought no replies but Ashley Classics from Manchester came good. They had a scrap 960 saloon in their yard, removed the genuine Volvo towbar including all mounting bolts and charged a reasonable £150.

I've removed all rust and flaking paint, wire brushed it, painted it with red oxide and black hammerite and fitted a new 7 pin socket and cable, it'll be fitted to our section secretary's 960 this week.
