What bit are you having trouble with - it should just be a twist off connector and a plug. Maybe this will help...

Thank you very much Alex!
I got it disconnected. Do you use silicone to put new antenna? |

A little bit is never going to hurt - but if your rubber gasket around the bottom of the antenna is knackered, you can buy new ones, someone's selling them on eBay for £5.

My problem is that I broked the antenna backing my car on closing garage door. I streightened the dent in the roof as much as possible but there is still tiny dent left. Any experience with replacing the antenna with shark fin type? I know that the original one has an amplifier in the base, I actually saw it when I broke the antenna.

It would be fine to use a bit of silicone to fill the gap, you can get black gasket silicone which is impossible to see if you're good at finishing it off. Get a shark fin with an amp, try and make sure the footprint is bigger than the hole
It's not an amplifier anyway, they just say it is - it's Volvo's ping back system to keep track on us all

Any model of fin works better with original radio? How does it fit on slanted V40 roof? V50 antenna? Aftermarket?

Sorry, I have no experience of shark fins. I don't mind the look of them so let us know if you find one.
