Default '00 V70 Cruise Control

How do I know if my V70 has cruise control?

I've had my V70 for nearly a year now, it is a 2000 P2 2.4 manual, and although it has cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, I can't seem to get it to work.
I've had a google about and seen in a few threads talking about various issues but nothing that matches exactly, most talk about the cruise light illuminating for a few seconds if pressed immediately after startup, but mine doesn't even do that!

Is there a way to check if my car is even fitted with cruise and not just the steering wheel from a cruise optioned car?

Have you tried starting it with the clutch fully down, select cruise, see if the lamp lights up and then raise the clutch pedal.

I just looked through the OM and saw no "Cruise Control" fuse.

Okay, that worked. The little cruise light came on and as I raised the clutch it went out.

Now to diagnose it.

Racing certainty that the clutch position sensor is knackered.
Easy fix. Some have even put new resistors on a fixed them, for a while at least.
Search the threads here.

I'm going to have a bash at fixing it, just ordered some assorted resistors, I haven't got VIDA to check it but I figured it'll either work or won't.

I fixed my CPS by opening it up and spraying the carbon tracks and brushes with electrical contact cleaner.
No resistors needed in my case and it's been fine for about 5 years now.

The clutch master cylinder can leak and drip onto the sensor too so check for dryness and secure a thin plastic bag around the sensor if necessary.
