Default 17" Rims on a 97MY V40 T4 + SPEC QUESTION?

Hi, has anyone out there put 17" rims/tyres on a V40 T4?
Can you fit the V70 T5 5 spoke wheels to this model or are the off-sets different?

Also, my car is the V40 T4 CD model, whats the difference between the CD and Sport model? I assume the Sport model has the sports suspension damper/spring set? If so, how much does this lower the suspension by??

Thanks
Prad

T5's are 5 stud, T4's are 4. bit of a pain really becase I like the T5's wheels better.

Hi You can actually buy hub centric kits that change the hubs to 5 to 4 stud or 5 to 4 stud,

They are not cheap, and will include eveything you need,

17's will fit straight on your T4, but volvo only do one 17in wheel for the s/v40's called arcadia's and they were fitted to the last of the line 03-04 phase 2 sport models, you will need either 205/45/17's or 215/40/17's so the wheels don't scrape on the front of the rear wheel arch lines,

oh the offset and stud pattern are 4x114.3 with i think 38mm offset

T4's come factory with sports suspension with harder dampers and a thicker rear anti-roll bar altho they can be still improved with a set of eibach lowering springs

I put 17s on my v40 as I got them cheap through ebay the std. offset is 44 but the new wheels are 40. The tyres are Falkens and they seem to be pretty grippy and unbelievabley they have improved the ride, very underated tyres. Maybe someone can tell me if I should fit a spacer to correct the offset or maybe its close enough.

Heico do some 17" that will fit (specifically for the S40), available with or without tyres from www.heicosportiv.de

I will upgrade to these when I can justify the spendature. There not to expensive either and shipping to UK is about £160 if i remeber correctly.

Marcus.
