Question TPMS sensor battery type

Hi,

I’m having all my wheels and tyres replaced shortly and thought it wise to maybe replace the batteries in the tyre pressure sensors.

What type/size are they?
Are they easy to change?

How long do they normally last?
Do they need to be reconnected if battery is changed?

My car is a 2017 model year V60 D6 Twin-Engine

Any help appreciated

Do you actually have sensors in the tyre pressure valve ? volvo did away with them around 2016-17 and counted the abs senor pulses instead and compared the 4 wheels.

That does look like a sensor type. I believe volvo do a kit of 4. but get them tested first they have to be set to match the car with a special radio tool which the dealer will have.

Type pressure sensors are sealed units: you can't replace just the battery.

Any decent tyre fitter will have a tool that can scan and read each sensor without having to remove the tyre, so they can determine if the batteries are getting low.
