Default I am now a Volvo owner!

I have bought my first volvo this week. An ocean race 2006 xc70 auto.

I am very impressed with it so far and it is extremely comfy and the mpg seems good so far too with the 6 speed box in it.

Ok it has done 165k miles but it is all been serviced by 2 volvo dealers in it's life, most recent dealer now being my local dealer by pure chance!

Here is a photo. Sorry about the poor camera quality from my phone!

I have replied to a topic about installing a freeview box into the car to make the tv work again. I have no idea where the topic is sadly as I did a google search and it came up and I replied to it! I would have put a link to it from here if I could find it!

Heres to comfy happy motoring! :-)

Steve, your not far from me either!

I would have liked a lower mileage volvo but funds werent available whilst trying to get rid of my 6 year old ford ranger that was on its 3rd gearbox and soon be nearing its 3rd clutch flywheel assembly I feared! Enough was enough with repairs! 3k in 4 years I spent! I am hoping volvos are better built and will last me alot longer and less money on repairs!

In the car it says I am getting 38.7mpg on the way home from work today. All I have done so far in the car is comute to and from work. My commute is a 10mile trip each way with a couple of 30mph limits and 1 40mph limit. The rest is up and down hills at 50mph limit. I find once I am up to speed, knocing it across into geartronic locks it in 6th and stops it changing up and down and I am getting better mpg that way.

As for price. The car was advertised at £6250, but obviously I haggled and I also got a 3 month warranty out of it and free delivery too! (Just like to say I did view the car before hand but the delivery saved me fuel driving down and collecting it, the dealer paid that fuel for me in a way!)

I am also a new Volvo owner, just got my 2009 XC70 Auto last Friday and am most impressed with the quality, my last Volvo was an 850 and I had that for 12 years and it never missed a beat. Sorry no piccies of the car yet, we are on holiday so will post some when I get a chance.

I bought the car privately just before we set off on holiday so have a couple of questions the experts may be able to help me with; where is the spare wheel and jack???? and is the squirty liquid rubber already in the compressor or do I have to buy one of those cans from Halfrauds?????

The spare wheel was a no-cost option at that time as I recall; if it has one it is under the boot floor. If there is a compressor it should have a seperate cylinder of sealant, which will be obvious if it's there. If not, (1) you need to get one, and (2) you need to be aware that the one supplied might have been used in one of your tyres, and that should be checked if possible.

Thanks Rick, only thing in the spare wheel well is a lump of polystyrene with a compressor stuck in it. On further examination it looks like the compressor might have been used. I'm going passed a Volvo main stealer in a couple of days so I'll ask if they can tell if it has been used, there is a small tell-tale tag on the compressor that has been split so it may have been used.
