Software Update 2.2 includes Apple CarPlay

Just downloaded tonight. It’s a good look, considering it’s a different orientation to most other cars. I won’t be using the map for guidance as you lose the dash map and I think the Google map is just great anyway, but it’s good for music playlists. I’m sure it’s good for other apps but I haven’t had time to find out yet.

Updated the car and all is good.
Wife has used it (I use a grown-ups phone!) and she tells me its all good, she mush prefers being able to send iMessgaes via CarPlay than through AAOS. Only thing she complains about is it being cabled so the charging pad is now obsolete for her but I may just buy a wireless dongle.

The update has been downloaded, I accept to install it, switch off the engine and lock the car. The car is not plugged to recharge, as per instructions. Yet, twice it told me the update failed, and now nothing at all happens.

I'm just going through the same issue with mine. I've just set it off for the 3rd time. Will see if it works this time. Never been an issue before. Mine's a yr22 t6 recharge non extended range.

mine tells me that 2.1 is current and no update - why?

Connect to internet for 2-3 mins. Mine downloaded after a good connection was established

Tried starting the car, shutting it down again and then retrying the update and it's now worked. No idea why that would have been the case.

Mine did too this morning then this afternoon it said ready to install, which I did. Took 20mins and finished the update. All working fine.
It will come just try wait a little longer.

I eventually managed to install 2.2. I connected the iPhone via usb, had the usual message about data etc and then CarPlay worked beautifully. For two days. Since last night, if I connect the iPhone, I get a “Connect your iPhone using the USB cable” message (or something similar). I tried “forgetting” the car in the CarPlay menu on the phone and resetting the system in the car, but nothing worked.
Any suggestion? Thanks

Ours updated today and I have usb music back. Took them long enough to sort out. Doubt I will bother with Volvo next time. Pity as overall it is a reasonable vehicle.

2.2 now available so tried to download only to be told it can't as the car is due a service, car now booked in for next week - beaten by the system!!!!!
