Software Update 2.2 includes Apple CarPlay

Had 2.2 loaded today (from 2.0) by the dealer as OTA didn’t seem to be working. I can’t see anything different from 2.1; no CarPlay. I do quite like the change to the speedo, etc. can’t see why anyone would complain.

Has the speedo etc changed from 2.1? I really don’t like the reduced map size and cluttered icons of the 2.1 update. Why haven’t we had the option to have different layouts, colours etc as yet? With 2.1 it’s just one (cluttered) layout with the option to turn off the map, how exciting..

That’s my point, I don’t think anything has changed from what I can tell.
It’s not cluttered, it’s fine. I really don’t get why Volvo owners are the most complaining bunch I’ve come across. I’ve been a member of several car forums and they’re largely happy with their lot. Not here.

Updates in software V2.2

Reduced rate of false “no entry” traffic sign alerts.
Improved compatibility with iPhone, including wireless charging.
Drivetrain optimisation adjustments.
Note: This software version contains a late-detected error that may affect some vehicles. The side mirrors may automatically tilt downwards when selecting Reverse, in vehicles where the “mirror tilt in reverse” setting is set to OFF. To revert to normal position when in Reverse, double-press the L and R mirror adjustment buttons in quick succession and the mirrors will revert to original position. Volvo is working on corrective actions with top priority and we apologies for the inconvenience.

Ajustements de l'optimisation du groupe motopropulseur.
NB : Cette version du logiciel comporte une erreur qui a été détectée tardivement et qui peut affecter certains véhicules. Les rétroviseurs extérieurs peuvent s'incliner automatiquement vers le bas lorsque la marche arrière est sélectionnée bien que le paramètre « Inclinaison des rétroviseurs en marche arrière » soit désactivé (OFF). Pour remettre les rétroviseurs en position normale en marche arrière, appuyez deux fois coup sur coup sur les boutons de réglage des rétroviseurs gauche et droit. Volvo recherche en toute urgence une solution et vous présente ses excuses pour le désagrément occasionné.

Thats because its Volvo UK and we are not on the metric system. UK and USA don't have the CarPlay included in v2.2 because it is in the same component in the update shared with the inability to show Miles. Km display fine.

It will be released with the next update. On Volvo website, all cars with AAOS lost as having CarPlay now, so won’t be far away for existing models.

Yes once the metric/imperial units bug is fixed (and hopefully the side mirror bug too) Apple CarPlay coming to UK and USA model cars with AAOS. Seems there are positive reports of CarPlay coming from European owners.
