Default c70 convertible rubber seal

The lift panel that comes up for the hood to go into has a 2 rubber seals lh and rh. They've come away on mine, tried contact adhesive and failed. Cost to renew the 2 seals about £260. Anyone else had this? What would be the best adhesive to reattach these?

Hi, try impact adhesive again, throughly clean-off the old adhesive with white spirits from the hood compartment lid and the gasket, leaving no residue.
Apply a thin layer of impact adhesive to contact area on lid and sealing stripes (try Evostick) and let them vent off solvent 15 to 20 minutes, than reposition sealing stripes and apply pressure.

Alternatively industrial strength double-sided tape.

The Volvo part numbers
8618353 sealing strip LH
8618354 sealing strip LH

Try your local Volvo dealership and enquire if these sealing strips come with the adhesive tape/strip, or ask if double sided tap is available from their spares department.

Ok, thanks. Yes, I'll ask at the volvo spares, doubt the double sided tape is separate though. The seals were something like £130ea. so that's a non starter!
Yes, I used evostick impact first time. Cant really see any double sided tape giving me the adhesion it needs TBH.
Main problem is that the rubber has shrunk slightly and gone a bit hard. Have to give it another go, maybe I didnt let the adhesive go off enough. Wonder if I can revive the rubber a bit first with something?
