Default Early "Book Time For Maintenance" Message.

Got this message today.
The V60 has another 10,000 miles or 5 months to go before it is due for a service.

Phoned Service Dept and they want me to bring the car in so they can reset the alarm.
Only problem, it is 117 miles each way and I was wondering if I can do it myself?

I have searched the web and there seems to be some conflict if it can be done at all, without having to go to the Service Dept.
If it in in the Owners Manual, I cannot find it.

Any help, most appreciated.

Thank you.

tem.

try this

insert key, Set the trip odometer to T2, remove key.

Insert key and press start (no foot on brake)

Hold the reset button and hold it in

Then press/hold the start button till everything lights up.

When the Information Light flashes release the reset button. A Beep confirms the reset.

start the car, and reminder shoudl have gone.

Message : 161 - means the reminder did not reset, so try again.

Thank you.
I will give it a try tomorrow.

When you talk about the "Reset" button, is that the one on the left stalk, or the odometer button?

Tried the above and another similar method that I found on a Volvo forum, but they did not work.
I did get a "Beep" each time I tried to reset, but was faced with Codes 021 and 161, which refer to "Book time for maintenance", as far as I can determine.

Phoned the workshop and they state the V60 has to be plugged into the computer, to clear the message.
Pain the backside, having to go all that way just for a few minutes work.

it was the odo rest button.

vovlo said the same to me...probably a stock answer.

take a look on youtube there are loads of people that have done it, you just have to get the right sequence

it took me about 5 goes to get it on mine, and got the 161 code each time.

Yes, I have looked at one YouTube video, the one where he uses a pencil to hold the reset button in.
I had about 10 attempts yesterday, but no luck.

I may be doing something wrong, but I have followed every method to the letter.

Bit the bullet, so to speak and set off to kill two birds with one stone.

The dealership connected the Bluetooth Communicator to the car, into the workshop and within a minute, the message cleared.
A long way to go for such a simple job, but I convinced myself that I could do something else on the way, there and back.
