940 Alarm Cage

This part bolts on underneath the front of the car on the opposite side to the battery tray on the 940 Turbo. Mine has corroded beyond repair. I’m after one looking more like the second picture please! I think the 960 Mk2 uses the same part. Thanks.

Mmmmm look at that crusty battery tray

That cage was rotten on mine and the alarm didn't work either as it was swollen with rust coming out of it, so I just took it all off, if your alarm doesn't work it would just be easier to remove it all.

It’s not the battery tray on the 940 turbo. It’s under the air box and the washer reservoir. The alarm doesn’t work, but I do have a NOS siren I could replace it with. The bigger issue with the alarm is that neither of the remotes work reliably and I’m not sure how to debug that with a VG2 system.

Removing it altogether is a fair point though. It was commented on by the MOT tester in September.

I just call both trays battery trays as they are both battery trays depending on if it is a turbo or not, most people I have dealt with call the both battery trays too.

I would just get rid of the cage if it were mine, you could feed the wiring up to the engine bay and make a little bracket for the alarm horn to go somewhere.
