Exclamation Oil in coolant expansion tank

Hi . I have a problem.... not sure how big I have a coolant expansion tank full of engine oil...I have been told could be a oil cooler/gasket or it could be blown head...Has anyone come across this .I have a volvo v70 D5 se...Help

Hi,
I have seen this on a 2006 D5 that I looked at, I think that there was a recall for some of the oil coolers ,but I do not know what years are coverd.
It is hard work to remove the oil and you should replace all the water hoses as the oil can weaken them, unless it has been like it for only a few days.

Headgaskets dont fail vey often on D5's because of the block and head are both aluminium.
The first logical and cheapest part to check is the oilcooler ,its located on the back of the crankcase.
