A wee problem me thinks
S40 1.8i GDI engine S reg,
To keep things short and sweet, the story so far. problem with car, kept on stuttering/losing throttle power, got to 3000rpm and seemed to go into limp home mode. Took car to Volvo put on diagonstics came up with 2 faults Throttle position sensor and air temp to high. they tested and found that the TPS was setting off the air temp. At a pretty hefty price they replaced the TPS, The car seemed to drive spot on for a while (well 20 mile or so). then the dreaded happened. Symptoms now are, car driving absolutely fine then for no apparent reason the acclerator has no power (you can floor it and nothing happens), if you drop a gear and kick the revs up to 3000rpm she shudders and jerks but won't go, however if i drop the clutch turn the ignition off and on, then back to normal running she goes. obviously this is no proper solution. oh yeah i'm not getting any warning lights coming up . Any ideas what could be causing this and my solutuion!!! |
