Also there can't be any rust in a hole - the fact there's no metal there is irrelevant, there's no rust in it so again, it's rust free. Yes, these sound like sarcastic responses but many moons ago had these responses when viewing an absolute basket-case of a car - i later found out the seller had a reputation for using these excuses to sell rust buckets. Unfortunately, technically they're true. Sorry to hear you've had a wasted journey and thanks for sharing about it though.

There's really only one way to deal with those constant thoughts of saving another classic and taking on the challenge and that's to do what you've done. I did the same 8 years ago, looking for an Amazon l drove down to Devon with a trailer on the back of my 940 only to find the photo's enhanced the car and the seller was basically an eccentric idiot. BUT 12 months later a "stored" Amazon came up 10 miles from my home and "we are still together"..............lifes funny that way so never give up hope. And thankyou again. |

Thanks for the info about the pale blue estate. I too had phoned the owner and it sounded very promising. Its still a lot of money for a car that will need some potentially serious recommissioning having stood for 30+ years. Major paintwork needed also. Glad I didn't make the trip as its 5hrs each way.
The dark blue car this thread started with has had another price drop to £4995.. At least with that one you can see what needs addressing. |
