Default Recommended XC70 buyers guide

Hi All,

I’m thinking of getting an XC70 is there a recommended buyers guide if what to look for?

Also I understand that there is a polestar upgrade? Does anyone have any info on that? Does it affect mpg?

It’s this or get an L322 Range Rover and just accept penury! and a personal relationship with the RAC man🙂.

Many thanks,

D

Have a look here: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=311177 for discussions on the Polestar optimisation. I have it on a 215 bhp D5 XC70 and am delighted with it. Track enthusiasts will turn up their noses at the mere 15 bhp power increase but overall it gives the car extra power and a smoother drive that for a big high end estate car it should have had from the start. It's supposed to improve MPG but I can't say I've noticed any dramatic changes.

The only criticism with which I have any sympathy is that it is not cheap and if you are considering it, shop around for discounts. I justified it on the grounds that I got a good discount and that as a vehicle expense I can claim tax and VAT allowance which halves the price paid otherwise I have probably settled for a Superchips rewrite but that would have had the disadvantage of being liable to deletion every time Volvo upgraded the software on the car.
