You won't find any 940 seats pre 1991

I was lucky and managed to find a late 1990 with black leather seats, but of course they were already sold a shame would have been a direct swap for my 740, so I may give up on that idea and try and find the fixings from a later 940 and use the 960 leather seat I already have.

So I think I need the floor bracket and the 2 rear seat catches that they lock into when in the upright position.

Any thoughts on if that sounds like the right way to go.

Thanks

Andrew

The actual steelwork inside the car is different so you would have to chop the brackets out and weld them in from a later 940.

For 700/900 rear seats there are two type and it's age that's the important thing, not which model.

In the 1993 the change was from removable head restraints/3-point seat belt for outer passengers and no head restraint/lap belt for the centre passenger (old type) to integrated retractable head restraint/3-point belt for all three positions (new type)

More importantly, on the later type the whole backrest seat structure is also different and taller in order to accommodate these features. Consequently, the body mounting points at the base of the C-pillar are different.
