I've found one at Parts Monster inside ebay.Have you or anyone else bought from them? I'm guessing that their parts are of a good quality, especially as I prefer to fit Bosch
Those that i quoted part numbers for are the ECU Coolant Temp Sensors which use an EV1 style plug, same as the injectors.

I don't know what images you're looking at that show round pins, have you got a link?

PartsMonster is the ebay shop for PFV aka PFS, it could be the sensor they're selling is a Professional Parts Sweden jobby. I doubt it's Bosch unless specifically stated and for some stupid reason, the way the LH-Jetronic systems are set up they are extremely fussy on them.

I've been using an Intermotor one in mine for 4 years without any problems so i guess i've been lucky.

Dave,

going in via ebay, its https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284188616265

Its probably fine, as its only a temp gauge sensor,I just have a preference in lots of areas for Bosch items.

See what you think, though

Shaun

That's what is generally called the "D" shaped connector Shaun, should be right for the temp guage!

Referring back to my post#16.
On my B200F,
The front sensor ( 1362645 ) (temp. gauge) is the “D” shaped one and has two round pins. It looks identical to that one in the eBay link.
The rear sensor ( 1346030 )(ECU) is square shaped with two flat pins.

One last , and (hopefully) final point before the part arrives, do I need a copper washer or something?

As a plumber I would usually use thread sealing tape and joint compound, but I'm guessing that would mess with the earthing....?

Nope, nothing, just clean threads in the head and sensor, wind it in until it seals. Using PTFE (or jointing compound) is a big no-no especially on the ECU sensor as that will as you rightfully suspect, cause earth problems.

Not so much of a problem on the guage sensor as it doesn't use the earth but on the ECU sensor which does for both sensors inside it (that share a common earth point) it can throw the ignition and the fueling out. Mine was running like a bag of poop a few years back and i traced the fault to the CTS for the ECU so ordered a replacement. When i came to fit it, i found PTFE tape wrapped round the old one, knowing the state of the bodges the previous owner did i could guess where it came from and when i tested the old sensor found it was still serviceable and haven't had any problems with the new one either.

Rough rule of thumb is if Volvo didn't use it then it isn't necessary although there are a few exceptions.
