Default Considering upgrading to T5 Petrol

Hi, I'm new to this forum and wanted to ask a question to anyone who has driven or owns a C30 R Design T5. I recently bought a C30 R design 1.6 petrol 2009 as my first car and I love it, particularly the way it looks, however I do find it it be a bit underpowered.
I want to upgrade to the T5 version and want to know if it is worth it, in terms of power, performance and feel. Also, what should I be looking to pay for a good condition, face-lift example? Thanks.

So your question is is there much difference between something with 99BHp and 230BHp.

That’s a bit like asking is a plane quicker than walking. You are going from a low cost economical granny car to a fast road/track vehicle.

As a first car you might find it a lot of money to insure etc.

Fair enough, maybe a bit of a stupid question but I just want to know about owners experiences etc, maybe I should ask if its worth the extra costs involved in insurance and fuel.

Deffo worth it if you can afford it but, as a first (second) car, you will end up in a hedge bottom, i would recommend 10years experience, not to mention 10 years minimum no claims bonus.....

OK good to know, I have been driving for 6 years and this C30 is the first car I've owned outright in my own name. I have 3 years no claims and daily drove an Audi A3 2.0 for the last 2 years prior to buying the volvo, although that wasn't my car. Hopefully I would be experienced enough not to throw it into a hedge haha

Find a T5 up for sale and run it thru a insurance comparison site, see what it gives you and go from there

I will do thanks, getting around £850 at minimum at the moment. I wouldn't be switching until July at the earliest as I need to save.
