Thank you, I spoke to Phil, but he would not be able to install. I have sent an email to another guy who does do engine installs etc. Perhaps he might get back to me.

Before you jump on the MSII train, give some thought to the future of the MSII 'box'. The MSII system is based upon the MC9S1264 microcontroller. I think it has been in production for around 20 years and if you check the Mouser (vendor) website you will find that it is scheduled for obsolescence. That likely means that new MSII installations will cease to be available at some point in the future along with any specialist support and that you will be on your own for support. If you have converted to MSII and something happens to the controller, with all the sensor wiring in place the switch to an alternate controller will not be as painful as a new implementation, particularly if you have the configuration files and are able to interpret and load them into the new interface software. If my MS2 box dies, I am good for a while because I purchased two MS2 kits and built and modified them the same and load configuration updates into both whenever I make changes to the configuration. There are no guaranteed paths in this business! |

I’ve enjoyed reading many posts by 142G, very knowledgeable and obviously an expert, and have toyed with the idea of an MS system, but, for me, to what end? Yes it may run somewhat better, get a little more MPG and other benefits , but my 1800E runs well, and enough performance for me. Whatever you decide, best of luck , I’ll be watching with interest. |

C1800, I am sorry that I didnt reply earlier, I am not getting reply notifications from this forum.
I think there is simply too much wrong with this system to trust and expect a stable runner. I think it will need the predicted change of wiring loom, injectors (maybe not), all hoses, sensors, senders, fuel pump etc to make me trust this vehicle for every day (I do mean EVERY DAY, a la Irv Gordon) car. I have a Land Rover Hybrid which spans the 70's to 90s and it easily dispatches its duties and I have the same expectations from this, however unrealistic (What we without dreams, eh) I fully agree with you, 142 and the many others who have helped me in this forum have substantial and practical experience and if their experience didn't help, I have to succumb to cowed modernisation. |

I believe you can if you are the original poster, you just have to choose the option under 'thread subscription'. I don't think you can get notifications if someone replies to you but you were not the op.

Same engine capacity, its going to be pretty close and the lambda sensor will keep it in check . Ive been using the Emerald M3D system on one of my cars since the 1990's .
