Sounds like the going rate really, I just managed to find some for a good price on eBay from Riverside Volvo and they had a best offer option, so I managed to get another £20 off with that. But yeah £185 for front discs + pads seems fair, plenty of places are charging £185 just for the discs.

Out of interest does anyone know the min. disc thickness?

Is it 26mm front, and 20mm rear? (316mm diameter fronts, and vented rears)
Okay, cheers.

Yep… 26mm front & 20mm rear.

Got given some Rain X so thought I'd give it a go. Gave the front and rear windscreens a full decontamination and clay bar and got the Rain X applied.

Now just need a downpour so I can see how it performs!

I found it works well, but didn’t last too long.

Drove up to the Lake District today, first proper run since I bought the car last summer. Averaged well north of 42mpg over ~320 miles with a boot full of cargo, and it was a very stop/start journey traffic wise. Impressed!

Also the AWD has already come in handy up a very steep slate driveway!

Reset the drivers window and returned it to auto action and remote total closure control according to advice found in a thread on the subject. I love this forum!

I also recommend using the search engine to find advice already given, accepted and acknowledges as successful in the past instead of just asking the same question again and hoping someone will answer all over again!

Dropped my car off to my indi to replace a noisy wheel bearing (front passenger side) & replace the front brake discs with genuine Volvo ones, as the Pagid ones I fitted are already warped in just under 2 years!

The existing front brake pads may be fine to use again, as there should be plenty of ‘meat’ left on them. If not, they’ll put genuine pads on it too.

I haven’t got a press to seat the new wheel bearing, or the special tool required to remove it. As the brakes have to come off to do the bearing, it made sense for the garage to do both jobs at the same time.

x4 wheels aligned - all the B*****s were out. Big time. Looking forward to new driving experience!

Two new Pirelli Scorpion - Verde (All seasons) put on front.

Prepping for sorting rear pads and possible discs (rear have "lipping" apparently).

On https://www.partsforvolvosonline.com, on rear pads/discs it states: "Please note access to Vida or a special tool is required to release the caliper piston in order to install this product". Really?

Do people prefer solid of vented discs?

I use the battery from my cordless drill - reverse the polarity and it winds out the parking brake. Fit the new pads, operate the EPB a few times (you'll hear it winding in and out)...job done.
