Default XC90 rear exhaust

Hi all the rear box has started to go on my D5 07 plate. Won’t get through the next mot like it. I’ve been quoted £800 supplied and fitted by Volvo was just looking for alternative options i.e kwik fit etc and a little cheaper option. Cheaper is not always better I know, but any advice would be very much appreciated

£800!! That's stainless steel exhaust money!! I guess all depends on how long you want to keep the car and yes, if you buy volvo it will last another 15 years!

Hi, mine much older xc90 (03) but 4 years ago fitted an aftermarket full exhaust, that's the front box too. Mine came from Poland, arrived after 3 days and cost less than £90 inc all fittings. However prices have increased!

No problems with this unit as far as I am concerned so regard as good value.

See
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/for-Volvo...-127635-2958-0

You can get just the back box but was not sure if it could come apart easily.
My indie fitted it in 40 mins (£50).

Hope this helps..

Looked at Eurocarparts this morning and they want £414 but down to £289 with a discount. I plan on keeping the car for as long as possible after spending nearly £3k since December. £800 does seem a bit steep I must admit. Kwik fit are giving me a quote Monday but I might look at getting the whole thing done after looking at the eBay price and getting my independent to fit it. Thanks for the advice 👍

Its still too expensive at that. I priced my local auto store and they said £180.
You don't need a genuine exhaust. Just money wasted.
If youve good hands on yourself it should be a straight forward job.

I'd be inclined to avoid pattern items from the likes of Kwak Fit and Euro Car Parts if you're planning on keeping the old bus ling term.

Thanks for all the advice, I’ve had to go with Kwik fit in the end, my local garages are far too expensive and kwik fit came in at £292 including fitting. I’d do it myself but my days of crawling under cars are sadly gone and really need it up on a ramp. Thanks again 👍
