Lol, mines at 101k miles and never been done as far as I'm aware. It's a bit clunky going into 1st and reverse, but there's no real issue anywhere else.

I'll see if there are any indies near me (Barrow-in-Furness and Macclesfield regions).

That’s a wise idea.

You’ll notice a big difference after it has been done.

The impression I'm getting from here is that they aren't filled for life and are serviceable items. Or are they voluntarily serviceable items?

Any ideas on cost for a dealership/ease of doing it yourself?
Presume your A5 was an older one with a Tiptronic gearbox? My Jaguar XF had the same gearbox but was suggested a change every 60k miles which made a huge difference

Was the 2009 6sp tiptronic, so you're spot on there.
Your post implies that the new Audi's and jags share a gearbox - or at least are very similar. That so?

The 6 speed Jag and older Audi (Tiptronic) share the same gearbox and made by ZF.

The newer Audis (unless the top power version) uses the S-Tronic dual clutch gearbox that needs regular maintenance or is a disaster.

They've dropped the CVT (Multitronic) box now I believe
