Default Switching Active Xenons to LHD

Does anyone else have a MY12 XC90 Executive - the manual states I should be able to switch the active xenon headlights to LHD mode when I press and hold the button on the centre console for 5 seconds? Could anyone what message is shown in the display when activated and is there anything else I need to do?

I got caught out on a recent trip to France without testing the functionality beforehand!

Cant comment on the XC60, but in the XC90, the message is the same as the "Rule of the Road" .... if the lights are set to LHT or Left Hand Traffic, that is the normal position for RHD or Right Hand Drive cars, where the car normally drives on the left side of the road (like in the UK) ... if the lights are set to RHT Right Hand Traffic then that is for LHD or Left Hand Drive, the normal position for cars that are driven on the right side of the road (most of the world.)

Confused .... ? ..... it can be .... so for France, in a RHD car the lights should be set to RHT or Right Hand Traffic (ie you are driving on the Right!)

hope it helps .

Should have said that is the message that is displayed, when you change .... if your lights are set to anything other than the normal position for your car the message is displayed every time the car is started.

Turn the ignition on then press and hold the dashboard switch. If you have the lights on, you can see them change. The display in the little window says "lights set for right hand traffic" and as TruckbusUK says this will be displayed every time you start.
