You don't get many big old Volvo's go for that, even if immaculate.

Mainland Europe, however, still love them apparently - some convert them to LPG so together with reduced taxation they offer economic motoring.

If you look at ebay occasionally you will have seen the maroon one on there recently didn't reach its reasonable reserve; I won a prize with that a few years ago at a show, and its present owner has done lots more to it to keep it in good nick. If I needed another one I'd buy it back (BUT I DON'T!). My present 164E keeps me busy enough!

Must admit I haven't looked for a 100 series on eBay for a long time; though I admit to a hankering for a 164 - that big six has a fabulous reputation amongst the Marcos owners who have them - some have turned as much as 300,000 miles without the head being lifted.
Are there any pictures of the burgundy car Paul?

Very happy to know Magnus former car is safe.
Very true that as a nation we don't appreciate out old motors the way many others do, and it's hard to imagine that will change any time soon!

Cheers,

T

Here are some liberation pics:

All the missing bits are inside and have been painstakingly labelled. But sadly, they've been painstakingly labelled in Icelandic.

Wonderful!!! cue The Great Escape . . . (singalong time) . . .

She looks to be very solid.

And there you go, Sam, a winter project for you: Learning Icelandic - I believe it has much in common with Danish (perhaps obviously), so it can't be that difficult - famous last words. and hey, if you want to communicate with the old girl, you'll just have to learn

Please keep us informed how it all goes.

Cheers,

T
