Changing Low Beam Bulb 2011 XC90 (D1S Bulb)
For anyone that might be about to change a D1S Xenon bulb on their XC90 I put together a rough DIY guide.
Hope it helps someone. Quick note: Also had a 2006 XC90 before this and on that car the bulbs were the D2S type, the biggest difference between the two was the D2S bulb comes out of the ballast while the D1S comes complete with a new ballast at the back and does not separate. |

Nice work. The Haynes book of lies gives a different bulb type altogether.

Maybe different models have different bulbs but for the 2 XC90's that I had/have these were the bulbs fitted to them.
Most important thing I would suggest, due to the cost of them, is to check which bulb you have before you order one. And in fairness to Volvo changing a bulb is really handy when you can remove the headlamp. |

Can confirm mine are D1S.
Haynes claims they're D2R.
