Default Nitto NT420s in 255/55/18

Dont know if you guys have these on your side of the pond. I was looking for the Nokian WRs like everyone suggested for my car but ended up going with my favorite brand of tire, Nitto. Got a great deal from one of my suppliers 255/55/18 for $120 each delivered to the door. These tires replaced a set of Hankook Ventus 235/60/18 tires. The Hankook still has about 25,000 miles of life left but something inside of me said change them out. I was always getting this rumbling groaning sound. Thought it was a bad bearing in stereo!

These tires make the vehicle feel more securely planted to the ground. corning is better now with the ever so wider tires. Not to mention how quiet they are.

Not sure we get Nittos over here after a quick search on Google. Good pictures!

it is a shame, great tire brand. been using them for many years on various cars. i was watching this thread for months and no one mentioned these tires. i did hear something about my old tires and that prompted me to keep them even longer. since i changed them i never looked back

Default Yokohama Advan S.T. 255/50R19 107W

anyone else got any experience of Yokohama Advan S.T. 255/50R19 107W on an XC90 SE Sport? I'm changing from a set of winter Pirelli Scorpions which were brilliant in the Scottish snow if a bit expensive. Standard P Zeros were useless in the snow and only lasted 6000 miles on the front. Time to try something else.

I'm trying to get Wintrac extremes but without sucess so far. I've been offered Michelin Diamaris for £183 a corner or Vreidestein Quatrac for a similar sum.

Does anyone have comments on the wear rate of Michelins or whether the Quatrac is as good as the Wintrac extreme?

I'm sick of getting less than 10k miles out of the Contis

The reviews of the Quatrac that I've seen haven't been as good as a true winter tire in comparison.

Here's a nice surprise... I sourced a local Vredestein supplier, which is a small independent outfit, and they are showing 9 wintracs on Vredestein's system, four of which willl be delivered to them tomorrow. They are fitting them for £165 per corner which, in the scheme of things, seems like a good result.

Default General Grabber UHP 235/60 R18

Hi all, here is some data from a set of Grabber UHPs on a 06/55 163bhp XC90.

Bought a set of 4 about 1 1/2 years ago and just needed to replace the rears (down to TWI, and a narrow scrub line on outside edge of LR) after about 25,000 miles these were rotated once after about 10k. I would guess that the fronts have about another 5k left.

BTW the new rears are a pair of Vredestein Quatrac 3 SUV (£317.98 for the pair from Camskill)
