Surely 10ltrs of diesel is enough to register on any bathroom scales, unless you're talking about a weighbridge. LOL.

Admittedly only one trip and driven like miss daisy, but 45mpg from that big lump ain't bad!!!!

Don't do many long trips these days though....got a few coming up so will be a nice test :-D

This can actually vary a lot depending upon the amount of biodiesel present in the pump, up to 20% is allowed but it depends upon the refinery, there isn't any shell refined diesel in the UK anymore so its unlikely that figure is exactly the same now.

From a v good source only shell and BP use decent diesel noways. Others are using alot of biodiesel. All forecourts take their diesel from the same tanker then add their own additives. That's the truth from someone who actually works at the diesel source. Also from my d5 32mpg round doors 55 motorway

my 2 S60's (on my 2nd D5 185hp) had the most accurate computer of any cars I've used compared against brim-to-brim (over 20 cars). From Leeds to Cambridge & back, I'd genuinely achieve 800 miles to a tank if I hover around 68-70mph and don't drive like I used to (and how I know the car can!!... ) At 7(5)mph - (70 honest) I'd get around 650-700 miles. Basing this on town driving, also going to Newcastle and back and how far the needle has left. And mine's a DPF version. Also I suspect I've got injector problems as this one's noticeably slower then my 1st S60 (or else that one was chipped - dunno) Both on around the 100k miles mark. I get around 26mpg around town for a whole tank. There's a big diff on clogging these and taking it easy to get good MPG, don't forget they are a heavy car, so booting it around town will take it's toll MPGwise. Mebbe yours is a petrol and you hadn't realised

I've noticed the car feeling a bit smoother and with a bit more uumph recently - I've put it down to warmer temperatures and possibly the fuel being on the 'summer' mix?

I have a xc60 2.0 d4 manual and I get at the moment 48mpg 😀

we have just completed my first 1000 miles in my xc60/17plate/d4/fwd/man.selux/nav.
and im getting 45mpg and i dont drive like miss daisy ...loving the car ...my wife loves it even more than i do.....
